Certified Hand Therapist, Kraig Bano, Joins Fitness Physical Therapy

Kraig-BanoDoylestown, PAFitness Physical Therapy and Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists (BCOS) are proud to welcome Kraig Bano, MPT, CHT to the staff. Bano brings extensive experience and an outstanding reputation as a physical therapist, specializing in hand and upper extremity issues.

“Kraig has always been the go-to upper extremity therapist in Bucks County,” says BCOS President and orthopedic shoulder specialist surgeon, Kieran Cody, MD. “He brings a focused expertise for our upper extremity patients, and from my sports medicine point of view, Kraig can better treat my overhead athletes, such as baseball, softball, and tennis players. At BCOS we always try to maximize non-surgical treatments before recommending a surgical solution. Kraig can help patients get better without surgery, as well as provide pre and post-operative rehab, when necessary.”

A graduate of Allegheny University of the Health Sciences (now Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions), Bano has a Master of Physical Therapy degree, is a Certified Hand Therapist and has extensive experience as a teaching/lab assistant for Philadelphia area physical therapy programs. He is also a sought-after lecturer on hand and upper extremity issues for healthcare professionals throughout the United States.

BCOS hand and elbow surgeon, Jung Park, MD, says that Bano’s addition to the staff “creates a complete hand team. We will complement each other’s experience, knowledge, skills, and point of view. We can see patients together either during my office visits or during the therapy sessions to make sure that we, as a team, are always on the same page. Kraig has worked with many renowned hand surgeons and has perfected his skills by learning from them.”

Bano is published in the Journal of Hand Therapy and is also an instructor for Hawkgrips, a company that specializes in education and instruments for soft tissue mobilization. His areas of expertise are acute and chronic hand injuries, complex traumatic hand injuries, elbow tendinosis and fractures, scapulothoracic and shoulder dysfunction (specifically, the overhead athlete), instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization techniques, brachial plexus / thoracic outlet syndrome, peripheral nerve injuries, and sports and work related injuries.
